Grooved pins are unthreaded fasteners employed in press-fit applications. They serve diverse functions, including locking mechanisms, pivots, and bearing surfaces, ideally in situations that do not involve enduring significant end loads.Type U has three parallel grooves extending the full length of the pin, and a short pilot at each end permits hopper or automatic feeding.
