Flat head socket screws are designed with an 82° countersunk flat head, allowing flush mounting for seamless movement of adjacent parts. They are not recommended for applications demanding superior fatigue resistance. Standard socket head cap screws offer superior tensile, yield, and shear strength compared to equivalent hex head cap screws, while requiring a smaller counter-bore due to their internal wrenching mechanism. Their hexagonal center recess enables tightening with an Allen key or hex tool. The absence of side clearance restrictions makes them ideal for close tolerance assemblies.
