External grip ring in carbon steel, zinc Dichromate. Grip rings do not require grooves, threads, or other preparatory machining. They exerts a frictional hold against axial displacement from either direction. They can be installed or seated at any point on a shaft and automatically compensate for accumulated tolerances in the retained parts.
